Plastic Dress Series for a Jobless Recovery 2009, series of dresses created exclusively from plastic shopping bags acquired from recycling bins at local stores. The dresses are inspired from nature; breaking waves of the ocean, sea urchins washed up on sandy shores and flowers from my gardens. Plastic bags provides a venue for repurposing found material as well as making a social commentary during the “Jobless Recovery 2009” where tax dollars were redistributed from Main St. to Wall St. Fearful of losing jobs, American consumers have slowed down the world economy by reduced consumption of goods.
