Classes and Tutorials

3 hours - up to 10 students per class. Enjoy creating art and relaxing in the artist's tranquil backyard garden.

Shibori - known in the west as "tie-dye" a Japanese term for methods of dyeing cloth by binding, stitching, folding, twisting, or compressing to create a resist pattern.  
Intro -
Students will learn the basics of Shibori. All materials will be provided and no experience is necessary. Each student will walk away with a silk scarf that they create!
Advanced -
Students will have the freedom to experiment with dyes and techniques. Students are asked to bring their own fabric. * NOTE Fee is due before class.

Will offer additional classes upon request: Paper Making, Paper Casting with Handmade Paper, Basic Bookbinding with Handmade Paper, Low Tech Printing - create your own patterns on fabric and paper with low tech printing techniques using either thickened dyes or textile inks, Silk screening, Up cycle clothing and accessories, Batik, Hand dyeing fabric.

A 45-60 minute PowerPoint Presentation of Carol's artwork, inspirations and history as a maker is available as part of her classes or for your meeting or social gathering.
